Getting started
Connecting your books and bringing in companies on other systems.
- Connecting QuickBooks OnlineHow each company connects to Fynease, what Fynease reads from QuickBooks Online, how far back it goes, how it stays up to date, and what happens when you disconnect.
- Companies not on QuickBooks OnlineHow a company on another accounting system joins Fynease through trial balance, general ledger, aging, budget and sales files in CSV or Excel.
The close
The schedules, the Close Workbench, posting to QuickBooks Online and the record behind it.
- Prepaid expenses and deferred revenueHow Fynease finds prepaid and deferred revenue items in the ledger, schedules them, takes over from the month you choose, reconciles each account, and posts the entries.
- Fixed assets and depreciationDepreciation methods in Fynease, the asset register read from the first transaction, locking history already booked, additions, credits and disposals.
- Loans and leasesLoan amortization, floating rates, interest-only and PIK loans, the current portion, leases, vendor bill posting, and payment auto-post in Fynease.
- Cost allocationsHow Fynease allocates costs across accounts, classes and companies: fixed percentages, headcount, revenue share or a custom statistic, run in order and posted as journals.
- The Close Workbench and sign-offHow the Close Workbench lists every balance sheet account, signs off what ties automatically, runs Prepared, Reviewed and Signed Off, closes and locks periods, and exports lead sheets.
- Write-back to QuickBooks OnlineWhich adjusting entries Fynease posts to QuickBooks Online, how approval and auto-post work, and how duplicates, sales tax and bank matching are handled.
- Audit trailHow Fynease records every adjustment, sign-off and export: an append-only ledger, three-stage sign-off, lead sheets, and who did what and when.
Consolidation
Intercompany, eliminations and foreign currency translation.
- Intercompany reconciliationHow Fynease finds intercompany balances, in intercompany accounts and in trade receivables and payables, reconciles them month by month, and books the corrections.
- Elimination entriesHow Fynease eliminates intercompany balances, revenue and expenses at the group level, and why eliminations are never written back to a company's QuickBooks Online file.
- The translation adjustment (CTA)How Fynease translates a foreign-currency company into the group currency under IAS 21, calculates the cumulative translation adjustment, and when it withholds it.
